Why Silence Is So Powerful

February 2nd, 2018

When we decide to walk away from an unhealthy person, we have to go silent. Unhealthy people love the noise and drama they create more than they ever loved us. They love provoking us and watching us spin. If we go silent, not only do we completely protect and take care of ourselves, but we give them zero opportunity to continue running their game on us. The more drama these people can stir up the better. The more confusion and hurt they can create in people and still be able to suck them back into the relationship the better. This is how they function with everyone. The way they treat us may feel as if we’re singled out, but on some level these types of people are manipulating everyone all the time. They use different manipulations to get what they want from different people. The more superficial the relationship is, the more generous and charming toxic are. The deeper the relationship they have with someone, the more abusive and abandoning they are. The healthiest way to deal with these types is to give a Stop Sign to their antics. If you go silent, they have no recourse.
