What Are You Being Sold?

February 7th, 2018

Whenever we’re with toxic people, we must be aware that these people lack a conscience, and we must not allow them to use our own conscience against us. We must stop giving them the benefit of the doubt. When we continue to give this to them over and over, it is tantamount to contributing to our own abuse. We must live by the motto: Hurt me once shame on you, hurt me twice shame on me. We don’t want to be active contributors to our own hurt by leaving toxic relationships but not staying away. We do not contribute to our health or happiness by justifying the unjustifiable in how we’re treated. We cannot come to a place of loving ourselves and moving on in our lives if we continue to look at the fear of change, feel it’s lack of certainty and choose to stay put with a toxic person. Each time we fall back, we have been sold a bag of goods by them, and we have not been wise in the investment of our precious heart. Our gut knows the answer. Answers don’t come through going back. The correct answers come from what is new. New life, new growth and new open doors to new and healthier love. New learning comes when we refuse to sell ourselves short any longer.
