Truth?

February 14th, 2018

Toxic people feel no need to be honest, to tell the truth or to be forthcoming, unless telling the truth somehow stands to benefit them. Most toxic people, however, lie about absolutely everything. They make their reality up as they go along as a way to avoid having to look at how pathetic they are as people. They lie to get what they want, they lie to manipulate their way into a position of power, they lie to be in control, and they lie to look good and to feel important. There is no such thing as an honest toxic person. When we confront them with the truth, they will deflect from the topic by getting us on the defensive about something irrelevant about us. The hardest thing is to refrain from pushing them to admit to their lies. Even when we call them on their lies, they will simply lie again. They are a crazy-making mess. Move on from them, drop the circular fighting and save yourself by getting out.
