The Confusion of Jealousy

February 23rd, 2018

Because toxic people are fundamentally insecure, they become jealous and possessive of us. They view us, not as a whole person, but rather as a source of supply. Toxic people know this and fear that we may be this way as well. Because they prefer control to love, they project their jealousy all over us and make us seem like we’re the needy person in the relationship, as they purposely withdrawal and withhold love from us. They set us up to expect frequent contact from them as established by the love-bombing they gave in the beginning of the relationship, so when their contact grossly slows or stops we question them about why. They use this to call US crazy and jealous. Too many of us confuse their jealousy as love, and when they start pulling away, we read that as them having fears of getting hurt by US. Never let anyone twist you up in this way. It’s all a game. Jealousy is not love, it’s possession. You are not a thing to be possessed, you are a person to be loved.
