Better Off Alone

February 27th, 2018

As painful as it can be to cut ties with people who emotionally abuse us, we have to remember that our lives can only improve without them in it. The great thing about life, is life goes on. As we heal, we start to wake up in the mornings feeling different, feeling better. We may still miss them, but we start to recognize all the ways in which we are better off without them. Does this take time? Yes, it does, but time is also what helps us heal an get back to our rational thinking processes and out from under their crazy-making ideas about us. Time allows us to experience the ending of a chapter of our lives that really hurt. The more commitment we show to letting go, the more quickly we heal and the more quickly our passage through our pain passes. Toxic people don’t want us to grow. They like us broken. We are better off alone than with people who want to break us.
