Stop Denying Reality

March 2nd, 2018

When we’re with the wrong person, and we are denying or justifying things they shouldn’t do, we are caught up in wanting someone to be different than they are so we can be in a certain place in our lives or within ourselves. We cannot stay in a relationship that is dying right in front us just because we don’t want to be alone. It is better to be alone than to chase after a person who refuses to love us in the ways we deserve. We cannot think or love toxic people into their own healing. We have to start thinking more about ourselves, and examining with objectivity, not neediness, on if someone we love deserves us or not. If our needs are not getting met, there is a problem. It doesn’t serve us to justify not getting our needs met while we run around like crazy trying to ensure that the needs of the person we love are met. Being needless should not be the price of admission for us to be in a relationship.
