Letting Go

March 12th, 2018

We all have to let go of relationships we wish that we didn’t have to let go of. In the process of deciding what to do with a relationship is always the time when we’re in the most emotional pain. It’s so hard to make the final decision to let go because we’ve put so much work into trying to make an unworkable relationship work. Letting go can feel like giving up. However, it’s less about giving up and more about giving in to the truth we had been avoiding for so long. Having to let go can apply to any relationship we’re in; our parents, our children, a lover, a friend or a boss. Toxic people are everywhere. The hardest thing we do is let go because we’ve worked so hard and for so long to hang on. Yet, we can never know a peaceful life until we let go of who is toxic for us. This decision is not without heartbreak, but it does take us into living a life that has a lot more peace and happiness in it. We often find that the decision we’ve made to cut ties is the best decision we could have ever made. Once we eliminate the toxic people from our lives and we process through our grief, life is remarkably better. Whatever we lose will always be replaced by good or better.
