Can Our Children Be Toxic?

March 27th, 2018

Yes they can. We either gave them too much or too little as parents and they learned habits of entitlement, defiance and defensiveness. Or, we may have raised them well, only to watch them fall into an addiction. Either way, if our children are toxic and seem beyond repair, then it is time to let them go completely and let life teach them. This is scary and painful decision, and many parents question if by doing this, if they are unloving and uncaring. You are not unloving or uncaring if you’re choosing to stop enabling your toxic adult children. Enabling is not loving. The more we enable, the more toxic, abusive and using toxic adult children will grow to be. Parents must be both tough and tender. It is not healthy to over control or under control. If our children are abusing us in any way, they are pushing for us to show self-respect.
