We Can’t Make Somebody “Get It”

April 2nd, 2018

If the toxic people in our lives, whether it’s family or others we love, refuse to see us for who we really are, then there is no amount of our effort, convincing or pleading with them that will help. Effort is a reflection of someone’s interest. We cannot afford to waste our time trying to convince anyone of why we are worth their effort. Each time we get into convincing others of our worth, we are in the direct act of giving our worth away. Those who know our worth, do not need convincing. Those who see our worth, remind us of our worth each day through the effort they put into us, the affirmation they give us, and in the love and acceptance they offer us. We must be wise enough not to settle for less than our value. We must be strong enough not to force anything that is not meant to be ours. If something or someone is not meant to be ours, let it go. Something better is about to show up.
