Moving Forward

April 3rd, 2018

The healthiest and most productive way to move forward in life is to rid ourselves of the people and circumstances that are keeping us down. We cannot even begin to heal our wounds if we are surrounded by the very things and people that are destroying us. We cannot break completely free of the pain and confusion we feel until we back away and give ourselves the necessary time and space to think rationally. Once we establish our ability to think rationally and objectively, we start seeing things with a clarity we couldn’t find while we were living in the fog of toxic ties. As we begin to heal, we may even feel angry we stayed so long in such demeaning circumstances. There is nothing wrong with us. We stayed out of fear and confusion; the two states of mind toxic people master at placing us in. The last thing toxic people want is for us to figure out their manipulative ways. When we do, they lose.
