Trust Yourself

May 4th, 2018

We have to trust ourselves to get through life’s painful separations, to uproot our lives, to shift, change and to start over when life calls us to do so. Life removes people from our lives with or without our permission, with or without our readiness. We have to trust when this happens that no matter how long we hurt, no matter how sad and angry we may feel, that we have to let go and move on. We have to trust ourselves that we can stand on our own two feet no matter how shaky they may feel at first, and that if we just keep walking through life one-step-at-a-time that we will feel our feet steady upon solid ground once again. As the ground begins to feel more solid, we must continue to nurture ourselves with books, therapy, friends or a strong value system. The commitment we have to ourselves and to getting better helps us to bloom into the strongest, most confident and best version of who we are.
