Bait And Switch

May 17th, 2018

A toxic person has to have a problem with you in order to justify the things that they have done or are doing to you. The more betraying they are behind your back, the more they abuse you or manipulate you, the more cruel and blaming of you they will become. They essentially get mad at you for being a good person. It makes them so mad that they can’t handle it. They are competitive and need for the things to be equal. They have to view you as just as bad or worse than who they are, so they can continue justifying the horrible ways in which they treat you. They will never validate your goodness because you being a good person drives them absolutely crazy. It triggers something deep inside of them where they hold the awareness of what a horrible person they are. This is too uncomfortable for them, so they start to make problems and flaws up, where you essentially don’t have them. They create all the insecurities in you that you have, and then abuse you for them.
