Monday Mindset: Think About Your Long-Term

June 4th, 2018

The pain that hurts us in the short-term will be well worth the happiness in our long- term. Any time we have to cut ties with people we love, family or others, there is a deep, acute and very painful short-term pain that feels like we’re shattering and falling completely apart. This is the one phase we all stay in our toxic relationships to avoid. Shattering is scary. While we’re in it, it feels as if it will last forever. It is the most painful stage but also the most short lived. It is better to shatter for a brief period than to believe in a lie of a relationship. We can choose to feel terrible for a while or lonely and unloved forever. It is really up to us. There is no greater pain in life than living an illusion. Look at the facts, look at how often and how severely you got hurt over and over. If you feel emotionally unstable in the relationship, then what is the real difference to shattering for a while once you get out? At least when you’re out, you offer yourself the chance at healing, new love and a new life.
