Monday Mindset: Feelings Are Not Wrong

June 12th, 2018

There is nothing about the way you feel that is wrong. Facts can be disagreed upon based on perception but feelings are always valid. When people argue with what you feel that is unkind. They don’t have to like the way you feel and they may not feel that your feelings are warranted, but that is still not up to them. We feel what we feel. Feelings are organic reactions to situations we’re placed in. There is no arguing with them as right or wrong. Anyone who tells you that what you are feeling is wrong is likely a close-minded person. Close-mindedness creates selfishness. To listen to what another feels requires an open mind. It requires love and patience. Feelings require soothing and reassurance, not judgment. Never allow anyone to tell you how you should feel, what you feel, when you should feel or to stop feeling what you feel. Feelings require time, love and attention. It’s really that simple.
