Our Company

July 6th, 2018

To be emotionally healthy, we must choose the company we keep very wisely. People will either uplift us or drain us. There is no amount of love, of proving our worth, of giving, of fixing things, or of changing ourselves for toxic people that we could do that could possibly them. No matter what or how much we do or sacrifice for them, it will never be enough. They will always require more, want more, demand more. The more they demand, the more critical they become. The more critical they become, the harder we try to make them happy, the more we lose touch with who we are and what our needs and desires for happiness and fulfillment are. The healthiest decision we can make is not to keep the company of toxic people. They will drain us physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. When we get to this place we can easily forget the meaning and purpose of our own life. We must protect ourselves and our life. We deserve to be heard, loved and understood. We deserve to be built up, not torn down. We deserve to feel free, not imprisoned.
